I am part Indian (...well, part American Indian...) and I love the colour and emotion one sees at Asian weddings.  Despite the sometimes long hours - .... 4am for getting ready shots, midnight for games... - every Asian wedding I have photographed has been an absolute joy.

In the photograph above, Bijal is the centre of attention - just like a bride should be - and obviously enjoying herself. Bijal's colourful and beautifully embroidered dress and expressive posture were a real pleasure to photograph.

The photography style is relaxed and informal.  Although this is clearly a 'portrait' of the bride, Bijal's friends form an impromptu frame for the image; she is unaware of the photographer and getting on with enjoying her wedding day.

Now, what's a gal from Texas doing photographing Asian weddings in west London?  You might ask this, but first let me say I didn't vote for our President - not for Governor, not for President the first time, not the second time, and I didn't vote for his Daddy either.

I moved with my then boyfriend (now husband) to London about a decade ago and have lived here ever since.  I have a degree in fine arts and a post-graduate diploma in fine and decorative arts.  After several years working in antiques, I was asked to do the photography for a book I wrote (The London Antiques Guide), and this became my first step towards professional photography.

My background in art and antiques gave me a formal training in looking for and seeing beauty and aesthetic qualities in images and objects.   I believe this really shines through in my wedding photography.

All my wedding photography - whether Asian or not - is contemporary in style. While I am not a 'hard core' adherent of photojournalism, my goal is to capture the essence of your wedding, the fun that you have on your wedding day, and the love that you share with your new husband or wife.
