Sarah and I lived in halls together in Sussex University during my first year in England, and later we flat shared in a Mews House just behind Russell Square Station in central London.
A few years later Sarah invited me as her guest to her office Christmas party. I was seated next to the head of the firm - everyone else was too timid to sit next to their boss. It turned out that Sarah's boss lived just up the street from me, and I had written to his wife - who headed the resident's assocation - to complain about rubbish on the street just a few weeks earlier.
Earlier in the evening, a guy at Sarah's office who clearly fancied her to within an inch of her life had spilled an entire glass of red wine down one of my best dresses. That was how I met Steve - on the receiving end of an upturned glass of red...
Steve turned out to be absolutely lovely, and when Steve and Sarah were married a few years later The Orchardleigh House I was a guest at their wedding and taking snaps with my camera as guests tend to do. The results - some low resolution shots are shown in the gallery above - show a fairly photojournalistic style.
